Susan Brown is featured in an online cellulite massage training video.

It can be found at http://www.videoshelf.com/anti_cellulite_massage_treatment.html

In this comprehensive online massage therapy training DVD, Susan Brown goes step-by-step through a complete cellulite reduction treatment. This technique is entirely done by hand; no additional equipment is required.

Susan goes over the benefits and contraindications, initial client assessment, client forms (agreement form, medical history form, and client tracking sheet), pricing, setting realistic client goals and expectations, measuring and tracking client progress, and follow-up recommendations for your clients to help maintain the results.

Your clients will get long lasting results with cellulite massage.

Cellulite massage works by loosening up the fascia, softening it, so it’s not so rigid, and softening the fat tissue and expressing the toxins and directing them into the lymphatic system. However, it’s not a one-time deal. It involves a 6-week program, with 3 massages per week, totaling 18 massages. It’s intensive work, but it’s worth the effort.

A full session runs between 35 to 45 minutes. The going rate for 18 sessions on the lower body is $1899.

For your clients, a six-week program of this intensive work promotes dimensional inch loss, smoothes out dimpled skin, and flushes toxins stored in fat cells.

Since cellulite plagues most women, regardless of age or weight, this is a great treatment to get repeat clients and increase your income. The best part is that it is extremely effective and does not require any specialized equipment.

Before and after photos and documented inch loss verify her results in this cellulite video.

After each session, the body will flush the toxins out through the usual cleansing process. Clients should experience increased bowel movements during this treatment series. If not, recommend they increase roughage in their diet to get rid of the toxins.

Clearly, the selling benefit of cellulite massage is the dimensional loss. Without changing their life style, clients can expect to lose 6 to 12″ total from the abdomen to the lower thighs, even if they’ve dieted and exercised to a point where they’ve reached a plateau. Inch loss is definitely an attractive benefit.

This massage works by softening the fat tissue and expressing the stored toxins into the lymphatic system. The body then flushes the toxins out through the urinary tract or lower intestine. So the massage breaks up the toxins in the cellulite that have been weighing down the client, literally and figuratively.

Cellulite massage retrains the body to flush out those toxins instead of store them.

While it doesn’t get rid of fat, the massage softens the fat, so the client also has the added benefit of smoother skin and less dimpling.

Another benefit is that clients experience more energy and just feel better.

The Cellulite Massage DVD (1 Hr. 13 Mins.) can be ordered for $69.95 plus shipping, by calling 1-800-414-2434 or visiting http://www.videoshelf.com/anti_cellulite_massage_treatment.html

You can watch the pay-per-view version for $55.96.

(Mt Pleasant, SC) Mom Spa, which opened this past spring, is different from other spas in Charleston. Yes, they specialize in massage, scrubs, wraps, facials and natural nails, but what sets them apart is their cutting edge Fertility Massage. Owner and certified massage therapist Christy Schachte is specially trained in this pre-conception technique which is having very positive results. Client Meredith Hulen had been trying to get pregnant on her own for over 7 months with no success. After learning about MoM Spa and this unique service, Hulen decided to try Fertility Massage. “I went to Christy not really knowing what to expect but came away feeling extremely relaxed, empowered by her suggestions and hopeful about the conception process.’ Two other clients of Schachte’s have also recently celebrated successful conceptions without medical intervention.

Fertility massage, which is a natural alternative to some medical fertility treatments, aims to open, cleanse and balance the body in preparation for a successful conception. This kind of massage can be done on any woman, in between menstruation and ovulation, as long as she is not pregnant. Schachte has also had great success with helping clients who were not ovulating and/or menstruating.
“We are bringing the mind and body back into balance so anything that could be blocking conception is removed and ovulation, menstruation and pregnancy are achieved naturally,” says Schachte. The technique actually differs greatly from traditional massage. The therapist needs to be a certified massage therapist and must have additional extensive training. Clients are instructed to breathe deeply from the ‘hara’ or lower abdomen and to visualize the image of their child in the womb. Deep specific techniques are also used within each session:
• Castor oil hot packs to begin the cleansing process
• Jaw release to loosen the hip and pelvic region
• Cranial-sacral energy work for support
• Reflexology or stimulation of points in the hands and feet
• Abdominal massage to assist with the digestive process
• Pelvic friction, done over the sheet, to increase the blood flow to the spine and pelvic region
• Relaxation techniques: visualization, meditation, prayer, intention
In addition to Fertility Massage, Schachte also recommends a healthy diet made up of whole grains, organic vegetables, fruits and meats. This is a trend that’s catching on nationally; Newsweek Magazine recently brought to light how food can directly affect fertility in a cover story this past fall. Partner suggestions are also provided at the end of each session.

Your client is interested in massage therapy and a facial. Sit down with them and discuss the benefits of facial massage as part of your traditional facial routine. Explain that when used in a facial, massage can improve the vascular system in the face, shoulders and décolleté as well as providing a stress-reducing massage for headache relief and tension.

While discussing massage benefits, ask questions about your clients’ medical history. In cases where clients have had broken bones in the face, have had or still have their jaw wired shut or are simply sensitive about pressure being applied to certain parts of their face, discuss options for facial massage that can be beneficial without causing them discomfort.

Once you have determined where you can massage during your facial, it’s necessary to explain how and when massage can be implemented into a facial procedure. If you elect to employ massage during the cleansing part of the facial, it can be used during the application of a cleansing product or between cleansing processes to relax the face and increase blood flow.

Some aestheticians use hot and cold stones when implementing facial massage. Find out from your client if they are comfortable with this procedure. Using the hot and cold stones is another way to increase circulation and relax musculature.

You can also use massage as a way to enhance your facial. It can be the difference between a customer feeling they had a typical facial or an indulgent spa experience.

For clients that may suffer from swollen lymph nodes on the face, discuss how massage can help to improve the lymph node drainage and reduce the appearance of swollen skin. By increasing circulation and relaxing the facial muscles, it allows for improved skin tone and allows the fluid to move out of the affected areas more readily.

Take the time to make your clients’ facial massage therapy as personal as possible. With the right care and attention, they’ll be coming back for more.
